Dear
Families,
Thank
you for your interest in Small
World Preschool. We
know that choosing a child care arrangement for you child is one
of the most important decisions you will ever make, because you
are actually choosing a partner in the growth and development of
your child and your family.
Effective communication between parents and staff helps
build mutual understanding and guidance, and provides greater
consistency for your child.
It is our goal to provide an environment conducive to
optimal growth and development of the child as an individual, as
part of a family and ultimately as a member of society.
Small
World has been nurturing Staten Island’s children since 1977.
I bought the school in 1993 and our originally location
was Seguine Avenue. In
1999 we relocated to this location and plan to continue to serve
the Staten Island community for many more years to come. Our preschool business has been a success due to the
recommendations of our parents.
We
are licensed by the The New York City Board of Health, Bureau of
Day Care. Each
member of my staff is fully trained, properly educated, and have
passed comprehensive security and medical background checks.
In addition they are CPR certified.
My degree is in Early Childhood Education.
Since the majority of my staff, including myself, are
mothers, we understand the need for quality care in a loving and
nurturing atmosphere.
We
feel that young children function best in a consistent program
with small group sizes and a familiar caregiver.
Warm positive relationships with adults; help children
develop a sense of trust and feelings of worth.
Because a child’s experience at Small
World is a supplement to their home experiences, we feel
very strongly that staff and families must work together in
order to provide optimal development of the children.
When we are all working towards a common goal, the
children’s sense of security, self-confidence and individual
worth can’t help but blossom.
We are firm believers of the “OPEN
DOOR POLICY.” You
are always welcome to stop by and pay a visit or just call to
see if your child ate, slept, had a great day or just to say
hello.
Another
feature that is unique about our program is the division of age
groups. We offer

World.

We
provide developmentally appropriate curriculum for each program
offered. All of the
programs can be extended to accommodate working parents.
We offer a year-round program with operating hours from
7:30 A.M-6:00 P.M. We
also offer an extended hour from 6:30 A.M.-7:30 A.M and from
6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., if needed, for a minimal additional
charge.
We
strive to provide the highest quality program for young children
and their families. The
giving of careful attention to details by every member of our
staff means that your child’s well being is exceptionally
looked after. We
welcome you to our program and hope that as a Small World
family, you will enjoy your experience with us and remember it
fondly for many years.
If
you have any additional questions, please feel free to call.
Registration is on-going; however, since we fill our
classes to Board of Health Capacity and opt to maintain small
class sizes, classes close out quickly.
Early registration will offer a better chance at
obtaining the days and time frames that are most suitable to
your needs. Please
feel free to drop by and tour our center.
No appointment is necessary.
We would love for you and your child to see what a
typical day at Small
World is like. We
look forwarding to meeting with you and your child.
